He said that the zipper broke and that he felt it was a good time to leave it behind and buy a new one. I told him that I made a lot of money with my backpack and that I would get it back for him. He said that all his money had been stolen and he could not afford to buy a new backpack. We chatted for a while longer, and that was the end of it.

I got back to my home country (Indonesia) and that was the end of my story. Nothing too exciting. My backpack is still locked in a remote area on the back of my brother house, in a room far from the rest of the house. I do not really know what he is going to do with it and how he is going to get it back to me. I'm not sure if he's going to report it to the police or what.

At this point I needed to grab the backpack and I could not do this from where the other suitcases were stacked, so I took my lanyard off of my keychain, and started walking up the hill. I was still holding my heavy luggage.
